Inheritance Act Claims and Disputes over Wills and Power of Attorney

We handle many cases where there are disputes about Wills, both for parties seeking to uphold the Will in question and those trying to overturn or vary them.

Also many people these days sensibly have given "powers of attorney". Sadly however these themselves can sometimes be the cause of controversy for instance where it is apparent the attorney has benefited financially from the person who so appointed them.

Examples of the types of cases we can help with include:

  • Claims made against an estate by people who feel they have been unfairly treated under a Will (mostly claims under a 1975 Act).
  • Cases where there is a dispute regarding the creation if the Will eg a suggestion of "undue influence".
  • Concerns over the use of money where there has been in operation a power of attorney.
