Advance Decisions (Living Wills)

Most of the time, people are free to accept or refuse the treatment they receive for their injuries or illnesses. However, what would happen if a decision about your treatment had to be made and it was not possible for you to be asked what you would like? Often people have strong views on whether they would like to be treated in certain circumstances, for example when there is no hope of recovery, but how can you ensure that your wishes are carried out when you can't answer for yourself?

An advance health care directive, also known as a Living Will, personal directive, advance directive, or advance decision, is a documented set of instructions given by an individual specifying what actions should be taken for their health in the event that they are no longer able to make decisions due to illness or incapacity.

At Crosse + Crosse we are able to advise you on the preparation of an Advance Decision or Living Will, so that you have the peace of mind that in the event of a serious accident or illness, your wishes will be carried out.
