FREE BREAKFAST UPDATE FOR EMPLOYERS - EQUALITY ACT

Free Breakfast Update for Employers - Equality Act 2010

Friday 3rd December at 8:30am

Join us at our offices for breakfast and a look at how the Equality Act applies to your business.

The Equality Act 2010 consolidates most discrimination law within a single Act.  The key changes for employers, managers and HR staff include changes to the current discrimination definitions, the introduction of the concepts of 'protected characteristics' and 'dual discrimination' and the development of equality through positive action.

This free update will consider the main provisions of the Act.  We aim to help you to understand the scope of legal protection for employees and identify the policies and procedures you will need to review.  We will also look at the options available to a Tribunal if the provisions of the Act are not implemented.

The main points we will consider in the session are:-

  • Background to the new Equality Act
  • Protected Characteristics
  • Changes to disability discrimination
  • Recruitment
  • Bullying and Harassment - prevention and how to deal with it
  • Effect on current policies and procedures
  • Tribunal awards

This one hour update is suitable for HR professionals, business owners, managers and supervisors.
