Family Department Promotions

Crosse + Crosse is proud to announce the promotion of Katherine Wright and Lucy Roberts to Associates.

Katherine and Lucy are both solicitors in our Family Department specialising in matrimonial and private law children matters.

Expanding the Firm’s next generation of leadership, Katherine and Lucy are recognised for their commitment to excellence in legal advice and representation and their dedication to client care.

Katherine Wright has been with Crosse + Crosse since February 2013 and has steadily built a busy caseload of matrimonial work, including an increasing number of high net worth financial matters arising from divorce, and also private law children cases. In February 2015 Katherine gained specialist accreditation from Resolution in the areas of Advanced Financial Provision and Private Law Children and has continued to develop her extensive knowledge in these areas. Recently Katherine has advised on several matrimonial cases where business assets were involved and has also acted in private law children cases before the Court that focused on both external and internal relocation. The increasing number of cohabitee disputes and the property and children issues that flow from them are a key focus of Katherine’s caseload and she continues to forge close links with local barristers, mediators and other professionals so that she can offer the best solutions for her clients depending on the circumstances of their case. Following her promotion she said “I am delighted to have been promoted to Associate.   Our Family Department has consolidated into a busy, efficient and supportive team and Crosse + Crosse is a great Firm to work for. I am very happy to be a part of it and to contribute to its success. I look forward to a long-term future with the Firm and continued achievements.”

Lucy Roberts joined the firm in December 2014 and was quick to make an impact.   She entered the relatively niche area of International Child Abduction and in October 2016 gained accreditation from the Law Society as a specialist in this area. She has acted in a series of reported cases including representing the successful Appellant Mother in the Supreme Court case of Re C [2018] UKSC 8. Lucy is one of the few solicitors in the South West who specialises in International Child Abduction and has presented on the topic to local practitioners. High in demand, Lucy has certainly made a name for herself and receives instructions from clients all over the UK and the World.   Lucy’s practice also includes a significant level of divorce and matrimonial finance work, and private law children matters, both with and without an international element. Lucy was delighted to accept her promotion to Associate and said “I am thrilled to have been promoted to Associate. Crosse + Crosse is a Firm with brilliant ethos and values. I work alongside some great people and I have a stimulating and rewarding caseload. I am proud to work for Crosse + Crosse and am excited to be part of the Firm’s ongoing success and future growth.”

Andrew Dodd, Partner and Head of the Family Department says: “Katherine and Lucy are both very well regarded not only within the Firm but also in the wider legal community. They have each consistently distinguished themselves with high quality service, commitment to their clients and key contributions to the success of Crosse + Crosse. It is a great pleasure to be able to promote talented team members within the Firm”
