Buying or selling a property does not just end with selecting a suitable estate agent to market your property or finding the dream property to buy.


Choosing your Solicitor is just as important so you should shop around.

Estate Agents do recommend Solicitors which are tied in with their firm, but please do not feel pressurized to use them, you do not have to.   You can choose whoever you wish to act for you.

Please remember, the cheapest firm will be the busiest so may not be able to provide a satisfactory or speedy service – you should also watch out for “hidden extras” which, during the course of the transaction, might be added to the list of costs and disbursements. For example, there may be an extra fee for acting in a leasehold matter, for dealing with a mortgage and/or for completing the stamp duty land tax return.
